It’s a Fat Tuesday celebration! On Fat Tuesday Light of the Valley plans to host its first annual Cajun Boil to hail the coming Lenten season and to provide fellowship and outreach to our community. We will charge $20 a person for adults and $12 for children. This delicious concoction of andouille sausage, shrimp, crab, potatoes, corn on the cob and delicious spices. The meal is served on long tables covered with butcher paper and you’re on your own to crack the crab and peel and eat the shrimp. It’s a great time and will be accompanied by lots of fun and fellowship, all in the name of Christ and to the glory of God!

- Pastor Borcher was ordained into the office of holy ministry in 2004, in Amherst, Colorado. He served the dual parish of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst, as well as St. Paul Lutheran Church in Venango, NE until called to Light of the Valley in June of 2008. Pastor holds a Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. He is married to Gayle who is the mother of their three children, Kris (who is married to wife Tiffany, and father of Jackson Thomas Borcher, pastor’s second grandson) of Westminster, CO; Katie who is the mother of their first grandson, Liam, and the wife of Brian Stanton, new residents of Salt Lake City in November of 2009; and David of Valencia, CA. Gayle is a Registered Nurse who has served in the area of labor and delivery for over thirty years. They are both excited about the opportunities presented here in Utah and look forward to ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people they encounter.
